Internet Backup Service - ITRBS

IntelliTree's ITRBS service (IntelliTree Remote Backup System) is an automated, secure, online backup service. ITRBS runs on Linux or Windows systems to backup selected files and folders over the Internet to offsite, secure, backup servers.

ITRBS offers many benefits over traditional tape, hard drive, or CD/DVD based systems. There is no need to worry about changing media, and the backups are automatically offsite. Files can also be restored directly back to your server or workstation.

ITRBS uses a "synchronization" mechanism for its backup. This means that the only files that need to be transferred in each backup session are the ones that have changed since the last backup. This allows efficient use of bandwidth, which means even very large data sets can be backed up, and complete backups can be achieved every night.

ITRBS also supports robust "retention" capabilities. Retention is the ability to go back in time to retrieve files as they were at some point in the past. When files are changed between backups, previous versions of files are saved for some period of time (usually 7 days, although this can be set to any length of time).
